Understanding the teenage brain

For parents of children aged 12 years+

What do toddlers and teenagers have in common? According to neuroscience, the answer is a lot. The teenager years, like the toddler years, are a time of intense change and development in the brain. Which means, of course, big changes for our adult brains too as we re-learn how to care for our “big kids.” In this workshop we will be debunking the most common myths about the teenage brain, sharing our best guesses about what is actually going on in our teenagers’ brains, and providing suggestions on how to support and even celebrate your teenager’s incredible brain. (Yes, we said celebrate!)

When: Thursday, Feb. 2, 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Presenters: Isabella Weiss, MSW, RSW, and Kim McCrory, MSW, RSW

Workshop will be run on a videoconferencing platform.
