Leadership and management in mental health services certificate program

Stepping into leadership or looking to strengthen the skills you already bring to your role?

Effective leadership in mental health services requires more than clinical expertise. It takes the ability to guide teams, navigate change, make informed decisions and create inclusive, collaborative workplaces.

Registration is now open for our Leadership and management in mental health services certificate program, running January 18 to March 1, 2027.

Designed for current and emerging leaders, this eight-module live webinar series brings together experienced leaders and practitioners to help participants develop practical leadership skills, strengthen their confidence and respond to the evolving challenges of mental health service delivery.

What will you explore?

Throughout the program, participants will build skills and knowledge across eight essential areas of leadership:

  1. Becoming an exceptional leader
  2. Facilitating successful change
  3. Building financial acumen
  4. Cultivating employee performance
  5. Managing human resource accountabilities
  6. Fostering inclusive, equitable and anti-racist organizations
  7. Developing effective teams
  8. The strategic plan: Achieving impact through intentional and active leadership

Put your leadership learning into practice

Beyond the eight modules, participants can extend their learning through an optional, self-directed independent project that connects program concepts and strategies to a real leadership issue or opportunity in their workplace.

Using a structured project guide, participants can explore challenges related to organizational strategy, people and relationships, or the transition to management. The project encourages reflection, critical thinking and practical action planning, helping participants translate their learning into meaningful next steps for their leadership practice. The project is optional and does not require submission or formal assessment.

Ready to strengthen your leadership practice?

Whether you’re preparing to take on a leadership role or looking to build on your existing experience, this program offers practical tools and strategies to lead teams, navigate organizational challenges and put practical leadership strategies to work in your organization.
