Overview

Am I eligible? 

Students must be enrolled in a Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM) HIM program that requires student to complete a field placement. 

What would I do? 

Health Information Management (HIM) practicum students will observe and participate in our health records department activities to apply what they have learned in the classroom to a real-world environment. 
 
Students will develop skills in time management, organization, and verbal and written communication. Students will gain experience in areas such as privacy in a children’s mental health setting, data quality activities, and HIM planning and evaluation.

How do I apply? 

Practicum placements are arranged through your college or university’s program coordinator. Please contact them directly if you are interested in this placement.
