Meet our Research Scientist

Research & Education

“GH-CCMH is committed to providing the most evidence-based care to the children, youth, and families it serves. As a research scientist, my role centers on strengthening this care through collaboration with essential GH-CCMH partners, including youth, families, clinicians, and leadership. Together, we aim to answer pivotal questions: What treatments are effective? How can we eliminate barriers to improve the accessibility of our services? These inquiries will guide our pursuit of responsive and innovative care, ultimately leading to better outcomes for our clients and families.”

– Dr. Vasudha Gidugu, Research Scientist, The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH)

Dr. Vasudha Gidugu is a health services researcher with a background in mental health services and outcomes research. She has a master’s degree in psychology and rehabilitation counselling and a PhD in health services research. She was previously a researcher at the Boston University Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation, where she focused on outcomes evaluation and promoting the implementation of effective community-based mental health services for adults and youth with serious mental illnesses. She joined the GH-CCMH team as Research Scientist in September 2023.

She has a passion for improving access to innovative, evidence-based care and, in her most recent role, led research projects to inform the adoption of and equitable access to innovation in healthcare.

Dr. Gidugu is working to support the GH-CCMH’s clinical programs in measuring clinical outcomes and demonstrating the impact of the innovative and much-needed services provided by GH-CCMH.

Thank you to the SickKids Foundation for supporting Dr. Gidugu and the research unit of staff and students that she is collaborating with.
