Process of self-inquiry for self-supervision and self-care: Supporting clinician wellbeing and ethical reflexive practice
Explore processes of self-inquiry to support clinician wellbeing, reflexive practice, and ethical clinical practice.
This workshop will offer a container for clinicians to engage in processes of self-inquiry for personal and professional development, in support of clinician wellbeing and reflexive practice. In this workshop, Dr. Adele Lafrance will guide participants through dyadic experiences of self-inquiry to support reflexivity and ethical practice with regard to power, privilege, and bias. This includes including bias related to treatment modalities and ways of healing. The workshop will also present theory, tools, techniques, and supervision interventions to support clinicians in regaining access to their clinical intuition. It encourages clinicians to learn these techniques to support their own work as supervisors and mentors, as relevant.
The invitation is to consider processes of self-inquiry – not only as a professional practices, but as a genuine practice of self-care – a way of tending to the clinician as a whole person, and sustaining the kind of presence that meaningful clinical work requires. All are welcome regardless of where they are in their personal or professional development.
Learning objectives:
- Recognize the influence of personal and professional bias on clinical decisions.
- Identify and apply at least two processes of self-inquiry to support ongoing self-supervision, reflexive practice, and personal wellbeing.
- Experience self-inquiry practices as a foundation for ongoing self-care and clinical development.
Join this reflective workshop to support clinician wellbeing, deepen reflexive practice, and strengthen your clinical work through self-inquiry.
