Treating trauma in children, youth, and families: Helping families heal
Practical, family-focused strategies to recognize trauma responses, support stabilization, and promote healing in the family system.
This training explores trauma in children, youth, and families. How trauma impacts them, how to best support these clients, and how to identify myriad traumatic responses and encourage healing in the family system. By the end of this training, participants will be able to recognize the effects of trauma in children and adolescents, understand the many manifestations of complex developmental trauma and incorporate this understanding into their work.
Strategies will be provided to assist in the stabilization and support of youth with traumatic histories. As well as steps on how to use relationships to promote healing in traumatized children. This family-focused trauma care training will also include some time spent on parenting in the context of trauma.
