Families First Parenting Workshops

Caring with Pride: Supporting LGBTQIA+ youth as a caregiver

Join us for a welcoming workshop designed for parents and caregivers who want to support the young people in their lives with confidence and pride.

Whether your child is questioning their sexual or gender identity, identifies as LGBTQIA+, or you simply want to learn more about being an affirming caregiver or ally, this session is for you.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:

  • Understanding LGBTQIA+ identities
  • Common challenges youth face
  • Protective factors that help youth thrive
  • Practical ways caregivers can support and affirm their youth

Come to connect with other families, ask questions, and engage in meaningful discussion. 

When: Tuesday, March 3; 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Presenters: Gena Little, MSW, RSW (she/her) and Amy O’Leary, MSW, RSW (she/her), Child and Family Therapists

Workshop will be run on a videoconferencing platform.
