GH-CCMH wishes SickKids a happy 150th birthday!

The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) is turning 150 on April 3, marking a century and a half of excellence in paediatric care, research and education. On behalf of all of us at GH-CCMH, a very happy birthday to our wonderful colleagues at SickKids!

GH-CCMH staff members and psychology residents gather around a balloon sculpture commemorating the integration of the Centre and SickKids

To mark the happy occasion, we asked staff at GH-CCMH to reflect on what it means to them to be part of the SickKids family.

“GH-CCMH is proud to be part of the SickKids family. Wishing our colleagues at the hospital a very happy 150th birthday! We are looking forward to continued collaborations between hospital and community to meet the needs or our clients and patients. ” – Neill Carson, Executive Director

“Congratulations to SickKids on 150 years of excellence in paediatric care! The integration of SickKids with CCMH has strengthened the pathways that support the seamless transition of care for youth, caregivers, and families, moving from hospital-based programs to community-based mental health services. This partnership ensures continuity and enhances the support provided at every stage of the health-care journey, benefiting both hospital and community care systems alike. It is a pleasure to continue collaborating with your teams as we work together to support our community!” – Shannon Greene, Clinical Director, Client and Participant Services

“Congratulations SickKids on 150 years! It has been a pleasure working with you on our shared projects, educating one another on community and acute care programming and ensuring that the children and youth are at the centre of all we do.” – Kristen Sharpe, Senior Project Manager, Leadership Administration

“Congratulations on 150 years of exemplary client care, SickKids. We, the Bridging Service folks, are grateful to have the opportunity to work with dedicated and caring frontline mental health staff from teams such as 7A, Ambulatory Care, and Adolescent Medicine. We hope these coming years will be filled with even more opportunities for innovation and collaboration.” – Riley Williams, Clinical Supervisor, Individual and Family Services and Arrell Family Mental Health Bridging Service

“On behalf of the Arrell Family Mental Health Bridging Service located at GH-CCMH…congratulations on achieving this significant milestone.  We have been very excited this year to collaborate with our colleagues at SickKids to provide timely, seamless community mental health services to youth who have received care at the hospital.  We look forward to expanding our collaboration in the months to come.”
– Laura Hansen, Senior Clinical Manager, Individual and Family Services
