The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) is proud to announce that we have successfully achieved accreditation with Accreditation Canada. GH-CCMH was awarded with a decision of Accredited with Exemplary Standing following a thorough evaluation of our programs and services by Accreditation Canada surveyors. This is the highest ranking conferred by Accreditation Canada, a Canadian, not-for-profit, independent organization that has accredited over 15,000 organizations in over 38 countries.
GH-CCMH was evaluated against Accreditation Canada’s community mental health standards which include more than 500 evidence-based national standards related to governance, leadership, clinical care, service excellence and infection prevention and control.
“We want to thank our clients, community partners and colleagues at The Hospital for Sick Children who provided information during the evaluation process,” says Adia Shivraj, Interim Senior Manager, Quality, Analytics, Risk and Health Information Management and Co-Chair, Accreditation 2023 Working Group. “We are proud of this accomplishment and extend our appreciation to every member of our staff team whose ongoing concern for quality, safety and people-centred care is demonstrated by these results.”
“Our accreditation award is a real testament to the fact that everyone here at GH-CCMH makes quality and safety a priority every day,” said Neill Carson, Executive Director. “From actioning our feedback from this decision to participating in the ongoing accreditation cycle, we will continue to work with Accreditation Canada on our quality improvement journey.”
The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids is part of the SickKids mental health continuum of services including psychiatry and the TeleLink Mental Health Program, which offers both urban and rural telepsychiatry virtual services
