Dr. Susan Yabsley

Susan Yabsley

Dr. Susan Yabsley is the Advance Practice Lead for Psychology and Interprofessional Education at The Garry Hurvitz Centre for Community Mental Health at SickKids (GH-CCMH) and recently joined the senior leadership team. Susan is a registered psychologist and a child and adolescent psychotherapist who has worked at the Centre for 20 years. 

Susan began her career with an honour’s degree in early childhood education followed by completing a Master of Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her keen interest and love for young children who are experiencing social and emotional challenges led Susan to London, England where she completed her post-graduate training in child and adolescent psychotherapy and psychoanalysis at The Anna Freud Centre in London, England, and her PhD in psychology at University College, London.

Susan is the director of psychology training at the Centre and chairs the Practice, Education and Training Committee. Susan is committed to the training of professionals in the field of child and youth community mental and enjoys teaching and supervising graduate trainees in psychology, psychiatry, and social work.
